As a Communications Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Develop, implement, and manage communication plans, strategies, and outreach projects that effectively convey the organization's priorities and increase awareness of science, research, policy, and management services as a communications team lead and/or project manager. Oversee development of graphics design projects, including reports, press releases, newsletters, brochures, website content, search engine optimization, and social media platforms, involving researching, writing, and editing that explain complex scientific or policy programs for various audiences. Serve as a project manager to implement projects on time and within budget, and to plan, develop, and manage content for digital and print media, including for websites and social media to inform the public of the organization's operations, programs, and activities. Consult with others on communication and outreach policies, ensuring legislation and regulatory changes continue to align with program goals and that best writing practices and analytics are used to improve user experience. Handle strategic communications by developing and coordinating messages, including remarks and other communications products and announcements for a large organization regarding marine fisheries and mammals and their habitat and/or ocean science issues, and how it applies to the public. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the ZA-4 or GS-13:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
One full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-3 or GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Supporting the development of methods, procedures, and recommendations for marine fisheries management on the overall improvement of the communications and outreach programs; Creating strategic messages and announcements pertaining to controversial issues; and Communicating technical information of marine fisheries, regulations, marine mammals, marine habitat, and/or ocean science to various audiences.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
