In this position, you will work under the supervision of a Carpenter as a key member of a team of Carpenters in a pivotal policy role from day one. You will perform limited work in construction, altering and repairing of building structures, fittings, panels, partitions and other wood or wood substitute articles. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
Building, repairing, altering lay out and/or erecting sills, beams, corner posts, ridge poles, trusses, etc. Installing window frames, doors, outside and inside trim, inside walls, laths sheathing, floors, ceiling, decking, stairs and associated hardware. Assembling materials with a variety of basic joining techniques and glue usage to secure wood pieces, veneers and counter. Treating wood and materials prior to installation to protect from termites, rot, woodborers and other such damage. Building concrete forms with proper reinforcement steel material in accordance with instructions. Preparing the cost estimates for projects, when necessary. Applying paint, coverings and coating to complete work. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out Element) Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Measurement and Layout Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of materials National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
