Military Services Coordinator

Specific duties include:
Explaining benefit programs and entitlement criteria; Provides assistance with all types of VA claims to those Servicemembers participating in the program, including compensation claims. Conducting interviews, identifying issues, gathering evidence and all other duties necessary to complete the claims process; Providing assistance in all aspects of the claims process to include review of service treatment records, completion of claim forms, and gathering of documentation regarding dependents or retirement information. Performs liaison activities with Military units, community partners and service organization. Conducts discharge briefings to service members and their spouses at separation points, utilizing a wide range of briefing techniques and communication skills, including motivational counseling on the full rage of benefits available Veterans. Represents the VARO at functions in the area surrounding the military installation, such as service organization meetings. Promotion Potential:

11/24/2020. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

Experience:
Specialized experience is defined as experience which demonstrates extensive knowledge of complex fields of law, regulations and Federal legislation pertaining to the full range of veterans benefits, to include compensation and VA regulations and procedures to assist with claims; and comprehensive and thorough knowledge of state, federal and local benefits program in order to explain them to individuals of all educational backgrounds. OR Education Substitution:
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or have a Ph.D, or LL.M, if related. All graduate education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position. Combining Education &
Experience:

Experience:

Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week. Physical Requirements:
The work is both physically and mentally demanding. Orientation briefing can require speaking for lengthy periods, and being in front of a large group of people for 3-4 hours in a day.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
