We are seeking a Sales Representative in Honolulu with excellent relationship-building skills, along with the ambition to approach and persuade customers within the building materials industry.
Expectations of the role:
Excel in the art of customer service and provide the best solutions to our customers as additional business opportunities are identified.
Develop account planning strategy to cultivate sales to customers with most growth potential.
Utilize SAGE sales tool to manage accounts, maintain call logs and contact info, run reports, etc.
Partner with Store Managers and other store employees to ensure customers needs are met or exceeded.
Work with the PPG credit department to manage customer debt.
Develop good understanding of customer base and the segments they service.
Facilitate timely and accurate customer quotations to achieve margin targets in alignment with PPG pricing strategies.
Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of the coatings industry including trends and products.
Two to four years of sales or stores operations experience and demonstrated customer service acumen.
Solid communications to bring ideas to life, to energize them, to make them exiting and vivid.
Bachelor's or associate's degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.
Ability to calculate discounts and profit associated with selling price; to calculate commissions. associated with territory performance; to take measurements and calculate surface area associated with making product volume estimates.
Driver's License and excellent vehicle record within acceptable limits as required by PPG.
Must enjoy visiting customers within assigned territory 80% of time and representing PPG at events and meetings.
Aptitude to analyze territory performance reports and develop sales territory business plans.
