SummaryThe Finance Coordinator will support the overall daily and monthly operations, event settlement, accounts receivable, accounts payables, parking operations, and other functions as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Compiles, review, and processes invoices for payment, verifying invoices for accuracy; enters invoices into computer; generates checks on a bi-weekly basis.
Contacts customers, both internal and external, regarding unpaid or paid invoices to obtain needed information for follow-up processing procedures.
Identifies, follows-up and resolves any questionable items in a timely manner.
Reviews and maintains Microix Finance Documents to issue purchase orders and follow up on pending requisitions for payment or clearing.
Calculates month-end accruals with information available.
Prepares all accounts payable and other related journal entries.
Reviews detailed general ledger to review posting to proper account.
Reconciles all accounts payable and other related balance sheet accounts as assigned to the general ledger and address any discrepancies Compiles and prepares information for Use tax returns to be filed by the 20th of each month.
Assists with parking operation processes including picking up deposits from Security, counting cash when necessary.
Prepares annual year-end audit schedules and 1099 reporting.
Support the departments with miscellaneous administrative tasks, including the maintenance of department files.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
A minimum education level of:
High School Diploma or its equivalency (AA/AS Degree Preferred) A minimum of 1-2-4 years of related work experience Solid understanding of accounting.
Knowledge working in accounting systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, 10 key by touch with the ability to learn accounting software Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships.
Ability to thrive in fast paced, deadline driven environment and execute assignments with high attention to detail.
Must be able to anticipate the needs of the company and/or clients and respond with appropriate sense of urgency based on needs/situations.
Must be reliable, use good judgment and discretion and operates with integrity.
Experience with accounting software preferred.
Must work harmoniously in a team setting exhibiting the Aloha Spirit to fellow workers, guests, clients and the community so as to provide exceptional customer service while demonstrating behaviors that reflect the Hawai'i Convention Center's vision, mission statement and values.
