Join our 'ohanaand be a part of an exciting team of professionals dedicated to serving ourkama'ainaand introducing our islands to the world!Position SummaryReporting to the Managing Director of Financial Reporting & SOXKey Responsibilities Assist in compiling and preparing analysis, schedules and data for the Company's SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy, etc.
), Prepare monthly journal entries and perform account reconciliations Research, analyze, and document new/amended accounting pronouncements and technical/non-routine accounting transactions, as applicable, Assist in compiling and preparing analysis, schedules and data for regulatory and compliance reporting, including employee benefit plans, foreign reporting requirements, and other compliance reporting, as applicable, Monitor, review, and if applicable, update accounting policies.
Liaison with key stakeholders on the update and accurate reporting of critical accounting policies and estimates Support the day-to-day accounting for various areas, including, but not limited to; equity accounting, investments, pension and other post-retirement plans, derivatives, debt and leases, and other areas as applicable, Supports the Company's strategic initiativees with system and process integration and updates.
Serve as a resource to project teams to ensure SOX IT applications are properly identified, tested and documented.
Monitor, evaluate and support the Company's SOX Compliance program.
Assessing the scope of SOX controls, including determining, documenting and updating quantitative and qualitative thresholds.
Works collaboratively with stakeholders to identify, design and document key controls, evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of the control processes, assess and evaluate control deficiencies, and recommend remediation actions, if applicable Other duties, as assigned A Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of related work experience; or a combination of education and related work experience 3 years work related experience with emphasis in accounting / financial reporting for a public company Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Proficient working knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting, accounting principles and practices Ability to prioritize, manage time and resources effectively, and adapt to rapidly changing priorities Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.
