Summary:
The HVAC Technician will maintain heating, ventilation & cooling equipment and controls in proper operation, control, and balanceDUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
o Installs, services and repairs environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of refrigeration and/or hydronic systems, air-side equipment/components, piping, valves, and ductwork, and controls.
o Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
o Fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metal working tools and welding equipment.
o Installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system.
o Installs fan systems on 'mounts' or in-line.
o Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools.
o Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant.
o Installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit.
o Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power source.
o Installs air and water filter sin completed installation.
o Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
o Provide Test and Balancing for air-side systems.
o Performs other related duties as assigned by managementSUPERVISORY

This job has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications:
o Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
o Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
Certification to operate, maintain and repair AC, evaporative cooling, dehumidification, and mechanical ventilation equipmento 4 years journeyman's experience in the trade.
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
o Strong oral and written skills.
o Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:
