Treasury - Foreign Exchange & Money Markets Manager

Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Manager, the Treasury/Investment Officer uses a broad knowledge of financial markets, risk management theory and banking principles, regulations, and operations.
Ensures business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
Treasury - Foreign Exchange & Money Markets AnalystThe Ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and financial market experience to assist with Bank of Hawaii's market related functions within Treasury.
This role will have broad responsibilities across the Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Markets areas, as well as the bank's investment portfolio.
Responsibilities include FX pricing, trading, and position management to support customer related activity, liquidity management and forecasting, investment portfolio monitoring and reporting, and associated analysis to support each area.
Additionally, this position will partner with our credit team to perform credit analysis of our correspondent banks and investment portfolio securities.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to analyze data to assist in the decision making process highly desired.
Treasury - Foreign Exchange & Money Markets ManagerThe ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with strong analytical skills and financial market experience to help manage Bank of Hawaii's market related functions within Treasury.
This role will be primarily responsible for the foreign exchange (FX) and money markets areas, but the individual will also have the opportunity to assist with the management of the investment portfolio.
Responsibilities within the FX area include FX pricing and trade execution to support customer related activity, forecasting and seeking to enhance FX volumes and revenues, as well as managing our foreign correspondent banking and SWIFT relationships.
Responsibilities within the Money Markets area include liquidity management and optimization of our cash position to fund operations.

Responsibilities Researches and analyzes market conditions, regulatory environment, management practices; develops strategies; and exercises a high degree of discretion in timing the implementation of those strategies for dealing with interest rate risk, funding and liquidity risk, asset/liability management, value at risk, derivatives, hedging and other similar risk management issues that affect Bank of Hawaii Corp and its subsidiaries.
Prepares and/or analyzes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports regarding activity and risk positions, in order to ensure compliance with overall strategy and guidelines, as may be applicable.
Manages staff and operations, as required, to ensure service level quality standards and deadlines are met, to ensure proper regulatory and operational policies and procedures are followed, controls exercised and errors corrected, and to manage employee staffing, scheduling, compensation, performance management and appraisal, training and development.
Develops and strengthens relationships with government market and other high value clients, maintains continuous contact to identify financing and investment activities and strategies; and provides investment services and general operations support.
Develops capital and operating budgets, human and material resource requirements, systems R&D, management reports, and provides general leadership to help establish and achieve division and corporate wide goals and objectives.
Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related subject.
Experience:
Difference in Officer grades relate to proficiency in developing profitable strategies, expertise is risk management techniques, and demonstrated capability for assuming higher levels of discretion in managing activity and risk positions.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
Familiarity with Bloomberg strongly preferred.
