Position Summary Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance Programs, the Maintenance Programs Engineer is responsible for the development, management, upkeep, and oversight of documents and work instructions related to aircraft maintenance programs for HAL's aircraft fleets.
Key Responsibilities Reviews Federal Aviation Regulations, Advisory Circulars, Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer's Airworthiness Limitations and incorporates them into each Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP).
Ensures FAA-approved programs (ETOPS, RVSM, Aging Aircraft, etc.
) comply with current requirements.
Reviews manufacturer's Service Bulletins, Service Letters to make recommendations for incorporation into each AMP.
Supports RCMP (Reliability Centered Maintenance Program), escalation/de-escalation of any tasks associated with HA's Maintenance Programs.
Audits, revises, creates new or terminates tasks to maintain HA's Maintenance Program across all fleets in Hawaiian's Maintenance Information System.
Works with input from Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT) to refine or revise task cards to ensure efficient workflow of the task.
Works with Reliability and Engineering to review passenger, crew, or operationally sensitive issues to help develop changes to each AMP.
Revise existing policies and procedures in writing and capture new procedures that apply to the Maintenance Programs group.
Provides prompt technical assistance to Planning, Production Control, Line and Base Maintenance for Maintenance Program issues.
Utilizes good judgment, technical expertise, and practical experience to disposition complex technical issues, consulting more experienced SMEs as needed.
Participates in Industry Maintenance Working Groups and other relevant forums.
Audits the Aircraft Maintenance Program for accuracy.
Serves as a project manager for large initiatives.
Possesses good aircraft system, powerplant, structural, and zonal task knowledge.
Assist other Maintenance Program team members in authoring and revision of tasks, ensuring accurate and efficient work instructions.
Create Aircraft Maintenance Program for fleets new to HA during Entry Into Service (EIS).
Authors and revises maintenance program related content for GMM, AMP, MOPM, and other HA manuals.
Serves as SME for Maintenance Program related TRAX functions, works with Business Functional Analysts to test TRAX functionality or proposed changes.
Professional development and other duties as assigned or directed Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university, or alternatively 3 years of relevant experience in addition to technical education such as an A&P license.
Demonstrated proficiency in large aircraft processes and procedures.
Proficiency in the use of aircraft maintenance and specification documents, particularly AMM, WDM, SRM, IPC.
Proficient in standard Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.
) Good working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and Airworthiness Directives.
Basic knowledge of aircraft systems.
Works effectively with little supervision.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills and a demonstrated ability to act as an effective change agent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to summarize complex technical matters.
Must be able to confidently and professionally represent Hawaiian to members of Federal authorities and industry.
May be required to promptly respond after hours (24/7).
Must be able to travel, work flexible hours and work beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays and non-traditional hours.
This position is considered as an essential worker, required to work on-site to support Tech Ops and available for field assignments as required.
Able to possess an AOA badge / Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.

/ Preferred Qualifications Previous experience at a part 121 and/or part 145 operations Familiarity with TRAX maintenance software Experience with aircraft Loadable Software Parts and associated systems management.
Experience with FAA and EASA AD regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (Parts 25, 121, etc).
Familiarity with Airworthiness Directives and Manufacturer Service Bulletins Experience editing aircraft maintenance and specification documents.
