REMOTE (Hawaii Based) - Pre-Encounter Rep - Patient Support Center (Full Time, 40, Day,Evening)

At the Queen's Health System patient support center, our team members are responsible for scheduling patients for one (1) type of outpatient scheduling, for example, primary care, specialty care or hospital outpatient departments (HOD).
Team members perform authorization, pre-registaration, and insurance verification functions as assigned.
The team will provide general and specific information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.

Qualifications:
Pre- Encounter Rep III o High school diploma or equivalent.
o One (1) year clerical or customer service experience preferrably in a healthcare related setting, such as a clinic, hospital, health care agency, medical insurance, or physician's office.
o Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
o Proficiency with automated systems and computer applications.
o Prior experience in insurance verification and registration preferred.
Pre-Encounter Rep II o High school diploma or equivalent.
o One (1) year patient access experience in a hospital or physician office setting.
o Prior experience in insurance verification and registration.
o Knowledge and understanding of different payor types (i.
e.
Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, HMO, Workers' Compensation, Capitation, TPL, etc.
).
o Knowledge of medical terminology.
o Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
o Proficiency with automated systems and computer applications.

Pre-Encounter Rep III TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
o Essential:
standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs, pushing/pulling usual weight of 15 to 20 pounds, reaching at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions and gripping of an object.
o Occasional:
kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, reaching above shoulder level.
o Operates various office equipment such as computers, copiers, facsimiles, telephone, typewriter, pneumatic tube system, credit card swipe.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
o Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
o Work pace varies and is frequently stressful.
Pre-Encounter Rep II TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
o Essential:
