Job DescriptionFounded in 1921, Straub Clinic & Hospital is a fully integrated nonprofit health care system with a 159-bed tertiary care hospital inHonolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i.

Straub is home to the Pacific Region's only multi-disciplinary burn treatment center.
The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as pioneering minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
In 2010, the American Heart Association recognized Straub in three areas of excellence:
Coronary Artery Disease (Gold Award), Heart Failure (Silver Award) and Heart Attack (Bronze Award.
)The Resource Team provides quality, comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility, covering for regular staff members that, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend to their normal positions.
The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that supports our outpatient clinics, including Medical Sub Specialties, Primary Care, and Surgical.

As a Medical Assistant, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families.
In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Resource Team department.
We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.
Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Federal Vaccination Mandate, all health care workers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

Qualifications:
High school or equivalent.
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Six (6) months medical assistant experience.
Knowledge of Classification Procedural Terminology (CPT) or ICD-10 coding.
Experience with electronic medical records.
