N Position Type Management JOB SUMMARY The Senior Manager of Branded Residential Governance and Compliance within Marriotts Mixed-Use Development group provides guidance and support for all luxury brands of managed residential projects on a global scale from the beginning of the development process through the term of a residences management agreement.
Projects supported may include a mixture of condominium associations with rental programs through a hotel, standalone branded condominium associations, single family homes, fully operated condo hotels, and mixed-use commercial units.
The position works closely with associates of Marriotts Law Department and with external legal counsel in the review of residential development documents.
This position also supports the corporate Residential Operations team and on-site property leaders who are responsible for fulfilling the obligations of the management agreements associated with more than 100 residential locations worldwide.
Additionally, the Senior Manager assists the Mixed-Use Development team during project negotiations, document drafting, and pre-opening phases of various mixed-use projects.
This position will report to the Senior Director, Global Residential Governance and Compliance, Mixed-Use Development.
The Mixed-Use Development group is essential to Marriotts growth strategy and is an important element in leveraging and advancing the quality and brand equity of Marriotts lodging system.
This function will continue to pursue transactions globally for Marriott Internationals luxury and premium brands, as well as establishing business opportunities for other Marriott brands.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Review residential & mixed-used development real-estate governing documents.

Pinpoint problems and inconsistencies among the interrelated documents impacting both the operations and governance and compliance of a project that may be problematic for effective management of a property or association.

Review and measure regulatory jurisdictional statutory compliance standards including insurance compliance, association meeting governance, financial compliance, and management agreement obligations.

Facilitate audits of property association books and records.

Develop and implement association governance processes and standards.

Analyze compliance issues and recommend corrective action.

Provide feedback and high-level guidance relating to site-specific governing documents.

Develop appropriate internal and external business relationships.

Conduct on-boarding sessions for new residential property leaders and assist with pre-opening governance support.

Assist with developing, coordinating, and conducting webinars and site-specific governance trainings.

Develop site-specific timelines, summaries of documents, and reference materials.

Ensure compliance with statutory management firm, brokerage, and individual licensing requirements.

Conduct on-site compliance and governance audits.

Keep up to date on property management trends and statutory changes.

Occasional travel to Marriott branded residential properties and regional and global conferences will be required.

CANDIDATE PROFILE - KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED (refer to expected contributions) REQUIRED:
Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in real-estate development, luxury residential property management, or as a practicing attorney.

Mastery skill in legal research and problem solving.

Strong understanding in objective statutory review.

Experience with mixed-use development governing document review, contract review, and strong understanding of legal terminology.
Education or Certification
Four (4) year college degree required; J.
D.
strongly preferred.

Licensed Community Association Manager (Florida) required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire Preferred:

J.
D.
strongly preferred.

In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
