Job Description POSITION SUMMARYPlans, directs and coordinates accounting and other financial activities of the Accounting Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Prepares timely and complete financial statements for all companies and consolidated financial statements.
2.
Evaluates monthly Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheet and Cash FlowStatement by company for large variances before distribution to Branch Managers, supervisors and Executives.
3.
Analyzes operating expenses i.
e.
outside services, materials, travel and entertainment expenses for variances from plan and prior year.
4.
Reviews and approves various accounting documents and reconciliations.
5.
Recommends improvements on existing computer reports/programs and development of new reports.
6.
Audits/approves the preparation of the cash management reports.
7.
Support/perform month-end and year-end close process.
8.
Coordinates and oversees the compilation of the annual audit/review package.
9.
Prepares reports and completes applications for annual insurance renewals.
10.
Maintain fixed assets of all companies; additions, retirements, and depreciation.
11.
Coordinates requests for special computer reports.
12.
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, responsible for selection, retention, performance evaluation, and supervision of accounting personnel inaccordance to Equal Employment Opportunity policies and regulations.
Also responsible for carrying out disciplinary actions when appropriate.
13.
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
14.
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
15.
Prepares weekly report to CEO.

Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.
17.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor-s Degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting.
2.
Minimum seven years of progressive accounting experience.
3.
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
4.
Supervisory experience required.
5.
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; skilled manager of people.
6.
Must possess good analytical accounting and organizational skills.
7.
Familiarity with JDEdwards accounting and inventory system preferred.
8.
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point applications.
9.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
10.
Mathematical aptitude for accomplishing tasks requiring high degree of accurate calculations.
Physical demands:
1.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
2.
Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
COMPLIANCE EXPECTATIONS1.
Responsible for adhering to all safety practices and procedures while performing tasks in all work areas.
2.
Responsible to maintain safety and security of Hawaii facilities by following the established rules, policies and practices of environmental, health, safety andsecurity.
HUMAN RELATIONS AND SUPERVISION1.
Frequent contact with all levels of management.
2.
Provide daily supervision to all personnel in Accounting Department and oversees Human Resources Department.
3.
Occasional contact with external auditors.
FINAL DECISIONS1.
Recommends the hiring of new employees; and the promotion, training needs, disciplinary actions and termination of current employees.
2.
Recommends changes in accounting procedures.
3.
Resolves accounting-related problems and issues.
4.
Assigns or reassigns workload of accounting staff.
