Housekeeping Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent supervisory skills to manage our housekeeping team for the purpose of creating and maintaining a satisfactory experience for our Honolulu Club members.

Position Summary
This position reports directly to the General Manager and contributes to the success of Honolulu Club by assisting in the execution of essential day-to-day functions as well as realization of the club's overall mission and goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides direct supervision of housekeeping staff, to include oversight of training, safety, competency, and teamwork. This individual is responsible for the actions, results, successes, and failures of the housekeeping team. Service and cleanliness standards, operational processes, training, effective use of technology, and employee motivation should be the focus. Guidance is received from the General Manager with respect to general objectives and special project initiatives

Essential Functions & Tasks
Clearly and accurately communicates with the housekeeping team to coordinate work.
Filters and disseminates mission-critical information to the housekeeping team as directed by the General Manager.
Processes payroll and monitors attendance to assure punctuality and consistency.
Participates in day-to-day housekeeping activities when needed. These include but are not limited to:
washing, folding, and distributing towels,
wiping down fitness machines,
washing windows,
vacuuming carpets,
removing trash, or
refilling amenities such as soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc.
Develops good working relationships with housekeeping team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
Maintains a positive work environment by quickly finding solutions to any adverse changes in team morale or performance.
Maintains and models a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or during special events--setting an example for the team.
Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of the Honolulu Club.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have demonstrated ability to work in a managerial or leadership role.
Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, and associates both inside and outside of Honolulu Club.
Must have a high degree of judgment.
Must demonstrate a commitment to the continuous development of his/her team.
Must have the ability to anticipate, prevent and solve problems; manage people, projects, time and quality; motivate and lead staff with diverse skill levels; multi-task; and set priorities.
Must have basic knowledge of basic Computer applications (Google Apps, Word, and Excel).
Must be able lift/move 20-25 pounds.
Must be able to work in an environment with a variety of scents such as aromatherapy candles.

Preferred Experience
Previous housekeeping experience.
Knowledge of payroll processing, associated labor laws, budgeting, forecasting, and managing labor costs.
Bachelor's Degree preferred; however, we will consider candidates with substantial experience in lieu of education.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
