Local financial corporation seeks a Personal Lines Underwriter III to join their team. In this position, your primary responsibility will be to conduct effective underwriting principles in Personal Lines to ensure controlled profitable growth through multiple business channels. You will report to the Personal Lines Underwriting Manager.
Basic duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Underwrite and evaluate assigned book of business with established guidelines Assure rate adequacy for risk selection and continuance on risk
Research and respond to underwriting and service issues effectively for company business segments
Conducts quarterly agency visits with underwriting manager and director of agency
Conduct and implement underwriting process improvements to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the Personal Lines Department's overall performance
Conduct training and coaching of personnel via seminars and classes
Forecasts and projects production budget for business segments
Perform other underwriting duties as assigned
This position requires knowledge in Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint. Must know how to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Must be familiar with fundamental property and casualty principles of underwriting and Hawaii statutory laws and requirements as it relates to Personal Lines of insurance.
Candidates who have worked with statistical reporting services and are able to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form to make a decision will be considered. Candidates for this position must be able to read, analyze and interpret insurance business periodicals, be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Other requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree as well as seven years of experience in underwriting personal lines Property and Casualty. CPCU designation is a plus.
Job Duties:
Complete research for product development
Conduct comparative analysis of rates of competing carriers
Review, research and complete responses to formal written complaints from government, customer or business entities
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree: Business
HS/GED completed
5-10 years' experience

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
