SAIC has an opportunity for a Senior Communications Specialist supporting our U.S. Navy customer in Hawaii.
The successful candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must have eight (8) years total practical experience in electronics installation, restoration, fabrication, and equipment repair that clearly demonstrates a thorough knowledge in the principles of electronics and electricity (including industrial provisions of the National Electric Code). Hands on experience should reflect ability of either independently accomplishing assigned work or functioning as formal team leader with overall responsibility for ensuring the successful technical completion of all work assigned. Work experience should include familiarity with the related sheet metal, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and painting procedures that are involved in ensuring efficient and timely installation of the various electronics equipment/systems, conduits, power control, signal ground and RF cables and associated cable trays, cooling ducts and plumbing of electrical/electronic circuits as may be required by the individual delivery orders.
In addition, four (4) years of specialized work experience in the operation, maintenance and installation of digital and analog communication systems and equipment to include, but not limited to personal and main frame computers and associated peripheral equipment, cryptographic equipment, multiplexers and modems, Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) and associated telephone equipment, patch and test facilities, and RF transmitters/receivers. Experience should reflect the full level of technical expertise and equipment familiarity necessary to ensure the efficient and timely completion of any work assignment. Experience should also reflect the ability to interpret and work from blue prints, drawings, manuals, handbooks and technical specifications and be able to work without technical supervision.
The successful candidate must have:
1. Four (4) or more years of experience with the evaluation, analysis, design, implementation and operations of Navy Network communications systems and infrastructure.
2. Four (4) or more years of experience and expertise with the functionality, operations and associated applications Navy Communication Systems.
3. Should be proficient with AutoCAD, and the ability to prepare technical documentation used for development, implementation, transition, and testing of intelligence communications systems
Qualifications
:
Required Education/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relate Engineering Degree and 4 years of related experience. Or 8 years of experience with technical training/hands on experience from an approved DoD or other acceptable training program.
An active Secret Security Clearance is required.
