Provides assessment, treatment, planning and implementation, counseling and discharge planning as related to substance abuse treatment.
Essential Functions: - Evaluates psychological, social, and physiological signs and symptoms of alcohol and other drug abuse. - Determines member''s eligibility for admission or referral. - Identifies any coexisting conditions that indicate need for additional professional assessment and/or services. - Completes required documents for admission to program. - Obtains appropriately signed consents when soliciting information from, or providing information to, outside sources to protect member confidentiality and rights. - Assists members to complete required documentation. - Provides overview to member by describing program goals, objectives, rules, rights and member obligation. - Provides overview to member of program operations. - Gathers relevant history from member using appropriate interview techniques. - Identifies methods and procedures for obtaining corroborative information from significant secondary sources regarding member''s alcohol and other drug abuse and psycho-social history. - Identifies appropriate assessment tools. - Explains to member rationale for use of assessment techniques. - Develops diagnostic evaluation of member''s substance abuse and any coexisting conditions. - Provides integrated approach to treatment planning based on member''s problems and needs. - Explains assessment results to member. - Identifies and ranks problems based on individual member needs in written treatment plan. - Formulates agreed upon immediate and long-term goals. - Identifies treatment methods and resources to be utilized as appropriate. - Selects counseling theories that apply. - Applies technique(s) to assist member, group, and/or family in exploring problems and ramification. - Applies technique(s) to assist member, group, and/or family in examining member''s behavior, attitudes, and/or feelings if appropriate in treatment setting. - Individualizes counseling in accordance with cultural, gender, and lifestyle differences. - Interacts with member in appropriate therapeutic manner. - Elicits solutions and decisions from member. Implements treatment plan. - Coordinates services for member care; explains rationale of care management activities to member. - Recognizes elements of member crisis and implements immediate course of action. - Enhances overall treatment by utilizing crisis events. - Presents relevant alcohol and other drug use/abuse information to member. - Presents information about available alcohol and other drug services and resources. - Identifies needs and or problems that agency and/or counselor cannot meet. - Explains rationale for referral to member. - Matches member needs and/or problems to appropriate resources. - Assists member in utilizing support systems and community resources available. - Prepares reports and relevant records. - Charts pertinent information pertaining to member. - Utilizes relevant information from written documents for member care. - Recognizes issues that are beyond counselor''s base of knowledge and/or skill. - Consults with appropriate resources to ensure provision of effective treatment services. - Explains rationale for consultation to member.
Qualifications: Basic
Qualifications: - Two (2) years of related experience in substance abuse/chemical dependency counseling. - Bachelor''s degree in social work, psychology, counseling psychology, substance abuse counseling or other counseling or mental health field; or equivalent related experience. - Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) by the Hawaii Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD). - Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification. - Demonstrated knowledge and skill in adaptability, change management, conflict resolution, decision making, group process facilitation, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, quality management, teamwork, and written communication.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
