SAIC has a job opening for a Software Systems Engineer to work at our customer site in Honolulu, HI. This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
Job Description: The Software Systems Engineer will provide onsite support to the Command and Control Rapid Prototyping Continuum (C2RPC) program. C2RPC is a state of the art Command and Control system being utilized at Commander U.S. Pacific Fleet (CPF) located in Honolulu, HI. As the onsite representative the job will be to assist the CPF operational staff in utilizing C2RPC on a daily basis.
The Software Systems Engineer must be able to translate Navy Operational Level of War process (planning and execution) into the C2RPC tool. They must also be able to take operational user requirements and understand how to implement them in C2RPC. The Software Systems Engineer will work with the C2RPC tier 2 staff to resolve all technical issues and to deploy new capability. This will include installing and updating software, performing backup and system recovery. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform software prototyping and requirements development to extend the system to support current and future naval operations.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND
Experience: Bachelor''s degree in Software or Systems Engineering or in a related technical discipline and 5 years experience. OR Associates degree and 7 years of experience.
Good verbal and written communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies.
Effective and proven personal ability to move projects forward on a schedule with minimal direct supervision.
Strong computational & problem solving skills.
Sound understanding of the following target deployment platforms: MS Windows 2003/2008 server/terminal server & Enterprise Red Hat Linux.
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI is required
