Job Description:
The Family Program Specialist I (Work Family Life Consultant) will provide support services on the Commander, Naval Installations Command (CNIC) contract at our Pearl Harbor, Hawaii location. You will be part of an accomplished team of Serco professionals helping to support the Fleet and Family Support Center providing exceptional service to our nations Sailors and Family members in one or more of the following critical functional areas: Deployment Readiness; Career Support and Retention; and Crisis Response.
DUTIES:
Provide one-on-one consultation, information and referral, classroom training, workshops and seminars in support of the education and training component of FFSP programs and services.
Provides information, referral, outreach, and assistance to client and client family members.
Implement and coordinate all local programs and activities to meet the social and/or emotional needs of their clients and/or the clients'' family.
Provide a wide range of programs and services to the Fleet & Family Support Personnel (FFSP).
Demonstrate knowledge in all Fleet & Family Support Personnel (FFSP) program areas with specialized knowledge in one or two program areas.
Conduct training classes for sailors and family members.
Provide specific information on resources available.
Work individually with clients where appropriate.
Knowledge of the formulation and execution of needs assessment tools.
Knowledge of the military and the challenges of the military life style.
Skilled in providing individual education as well as group facilitation.
Knowledge of the tenets of adult education and the development of training curricula based on the adult learning model.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to use verbal and written communication skills effectively.
Ability to conduct program evaluations and use that evaluation to improve program effectiveness.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and demonstrated ability to use software to prepare management reports and provide information.
Required Skills and
Experience:
Associate's degree in education, social/behavioral sciences OR Two years' experience providing education and/or work/family life consultation.
Experience making presentations and facilitating training for large and small groups.
Individual must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Works under general supervision or independently and typically reports to a manager.
May lead and direct the work of others.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.
Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary.
Travel may be required.
